Businesses seeking opportunities in shale gas supply chain

Nov 01, 2016

Cuadrilla and partners seek businesses to become part of the shale gas supply chain

Cuadrilla, as a focus of its new procurement strategy, has formed a partnership with two Lancashire Chambers of Commerce (North & Western Lancashire and East Lancashire) to identify and support local businesses wishing to become part of the shale gas supply chain.

More than 800 businesses have now registered with the Shale Gas Supply Chain Portal, managed by the Chambers, as a first step for those wishing to engage in the project.

Focusing on boosting local economies, 32 local businesses have already benefited from contract opportunities with Cuadrilla, and many further opportunities are set to be awarded to Lancashire firms. 161 of the registrations already received are from firms based on the Fylde Coast, where shale gas exploration is due to start imminently.
