Thornton & Lowe are now approved with the Skills Funding Agency on the Register of Apprentice Training Providers. With the Bid & Proposal Coordinator Apprenticeship Standard approved, we are delighted that we will soon be delivering support to clients seeking Bid Apprentices.
The Government has pledged its intention to deliver an additional 3 million apprenticeship starts by 2020 in England. It is committed to developing vocational skills and increasing the quantity and quality of apprenticeships, with apprenticeships being given equal legal status to degrees. Apprenticeships not only give opportunities to more young people, but also help all types and sizes of businesses grow across the UK.
As a specialist bid consultancy and bid writing company, Thornton & Lowe are working to ensure that support is given to those clients who wish to develop their own in-house talent. The Apprenticeship Standard has now been recognised and the role defined, and we hope from August 2017 our clients will be able to take advantage of the opportunity to develop the potential of their workforce and promote sustainability. The Bid and Proposal industry is now in a position to take advantage of Government incentives regarding the Apprenticeship Levy and gain from a valuable influx of talent, as many other sectors have already done.
It is envisaged that the Apprenticeship would last typically 24 months and would cover areas from opportunity identification and assessment, though to the coordination of PQQ’s and tender responses. In addition, the role involves providing support to all affiliated functions and extends to a range of related commercial activity. Whilst completing an Apprenticeship, the candidate would acquire many transferable skills, lending themselves to a variety of career pathways dependant on the individual, their talents and preferences. Individuals who successfully complete the Apprenticeship will be eligible for professional registration with APMP.
