One thing our team of in-house expert bid writers will always be aware of, is changes to legislation. We've seen bids where the "cut and paste" approach has been used - with little consideration to what has been happening since the last bid was written. Health and safety is a serious concern for all buyers and will be governed by various legislation. A massive area for the construction sector are the proposed changes to the CDM Regs (due to come in to effect in 2015). We will have to wait until after the consultation period (June 2014) to see what actually changes but the overarching plan is to make things easier, simpler and less bureaucratic, whilst maintaining safety.
