On 1 April 2026, Crown Commercial Service combined with several Cabinet Office commercial teams to form the Government Commercial Agency (GCA). Existing RM-numbered agreements continue as normal — the organisation behind them changed name, the frameworks did not.

GCA frameworks are one of the main routes into UK public sector work, covering over £400 billion of annual public spend. If your goal is to win government contracts, being on the right frameworks is often a key step, because many opportunities are only open to approved framework suppliers. Frameworks are split into lots and buyers award work through direct award (where permitted) or mini-competitions.

For suppliers, the difference is getting the application right first time.
