£25million project to transform streets in Belfast begins search for contractors

Aug 11, 2016

The tender process has begun to select a contractor to complete Phase 3 of the Belfast Streets Ahead scheme, launching from Castle Place to the new Ulster University campus on York Street. This project, designed by a team led by McAdam Design, aims to transform the local area with new paving, street furniture and lighting and public artwork. The Belfast Streets Ahead project forms a vital part of Phase 3, which seeks to regenerate the entire city centre in several separate delivery stages. Funding for this project has been put forward by the Department for Communities at over £20million, and Belfast City Council, who have agreed to contribute £5million. The procurement process, which has now opened and will close on September 1st, looks to appoint a contractor to carry out the capital works for Phase 3. The Phase 3 tender process will mean plenty of opportunities throughout the supply chain. Thornton & Lowe has developed a range of bid/tender training courses, designed to help you access these, as well as other, opportunities. Our wealth of experience across over 125 sectors ensures a relevant, straight talking approach to learning. These courses are run throughout the UK, with further dates and locations frequently being added due to demand. We also offer in-house, bespoke bid training, directly to clients across Ireland.
